The setting is in the present. It takes place in the east side of the city. It might take place in the 1980-1990 I don't know. The characters or part of a gang. They live in the city and Pony's parents died in a auto crash so his brothers are orphans.

ReplyDeleteThe setting in Freak The Mighty takes place in both present and past. The past is mostly flashbacks of day-care. When they are in the present they are in the down-under. At school the day Max saw Freak for the first time after preschool, Freak called him an earthling and pretended to shoot Max.
ReplyDeleteThe setting in Maniac Magee takes place on the streets. It smells like a dump and feels ruff and hears like construction working. There is a lot of garbage on the floor and streets. It took place a long time ago when there was still a fight about black and white. This effects the character by him being lonely and homeless.

ReplyDeleteThe main person is Manic magee and he can do some crazy things like one of the things is catching a football while reading a book. Another thing is that he hit of a really super fast pitcher. Then manic magee hit a home run off of him and the pitcher was getting really mad. Where he sleeps is in the zoo and eats there left over food.

ReplyDeleteThe setting takes place during the 1980's or 1990's (I don't really know). It mainly takes place in Oklahoma. The east side of town where Ponyboy, Darry, and Sodapop live in is pretty rundown. If I were there I bet the air might smell a little bit like exhaust or hair grease. It might have a jagged or rugged feeling. And as I said before the East side looks pretty rundown. The East side has lots of gangs, so I'm guessing if Ponyboy, Darry, and Sodapop didn't live there they wouldn't be in a gang.
ReplyDeleteThe setting takes place in current time, at Melody's new school. She's in a classrom, filled with other disabled students like her. They're decorating a foam snowman, and it seems like Melody and all of the other kids don't really like being treated like 4 year-olds. otherwise, the kids seem to get along nicely, and they all don't like being treated differently.
ReplyDeleteThe setting takes place in the 1900`s to 1990`s in a city in Oklahoma. It is a scary place where almost everyone swears. There is two sides the soc`s and the good team. The soc`s try to kill and just be really mean to the good team.

ReplyDeleteIt takes place in the 60's when blacks and whites were separated. Manic Magee usually hung around the West End of the city. But when a group of white boys, the Cobra's, chase him. He runs across the line, Hector Street, and into the East End, where the blacks live.

ReplyDeleteIn Freak the Mighty, it doesn't tell us what time period it takes place in. It takes place in the past and the present. In the past it tells us about Freak and Max in daycare. In the present it takes place in the Freaks room "the down-under" and it takes place in lots of different places also. In the down-under it smells bad and it is cold. Max adapts to it very well
