Summarizing - Due September 26th

Pick a chapter from your Guided Reading book.  Please list the chapter number or title you chose.  You may not repeat a chapter a previous classmate chose.  Using the Somebody, Wanted, But, So, Then summarizing strategy, summarize what the chapter was about.

To recieve all points, your blog post must use proper grammar, spelling, and complete sentences. Make sure to answer all parts of the question!

Character Birthday Present - Due September 26th

Choose a character from your Guided Reading Book.  In the first sentence, identify which book you are reading, as well as which character you are choosing to buy a present for.  Then you will decide what an appropriate birthday present would be for the character you chose.  Describe why you chose the item you did, and how you think the character might react.

To receive all points, your post must use proper grammar, spelling, and complete sentences. Make sure you answer all parts of the question!

Comparing Characters - Due September 26th

Compare the main character of your Guided Reading text to a character in another book you have read. Name the two characters, and tell what book they are from. How are the characters similar? How are they different? (List at least 2 examples for similarities, and 2 for differences).

Protagonist - Due Sept. 19th

What is a protagonist? What is an antagonist?  Who is the protagonist in your story? Who is the antagonist?  Cite textual evidence to show how you know this to be true.

Setting - Due Sept. 19th

Describe the setting in your Guided Reading Book thus far. Remember to try and paint a word picture when you describe what it is like.  Where does the story take place? What does it look, feel, and smell like? When/What is the historical context?  How does the setting of the story affect the characters?
